Roboform Password Manager and Form Filler
People often ask me how I get so much done during the day. Here’s one of my tricks.
If you’re at all like me, working online all day, you probably log into a lot of different websites, several of them probably multiple times every day.
For me, the number is about 100 logins a day (I’ve checked my browser history to confirm that.) If I had to log in manually every day, I’d easily have 30 minutes to an hour sucked out of each and every day, just remembering, typing and retyping my usernames and passwords.
That’s why I use the Roboform password manager and form filler program.
It helps me concentrate on the work I do, eliminates the problem of ever forgetting a password, and stores my passwords totally securely. Plus, it works across both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

It stores the information remotely.
This is also useful for outsourcing
if you don’t want your team to have
certain passwords. You set them up
with one email to access them all,
but they can’t find out the info.
Another efficiency task is writing
down things to be done, and the
steps to do them, you’d be surprised
to know how many hrs you clock just
in rethinking things.

I’ll second the vote for RoboForm. Free version is great but they had a sale around the holidays for the Pro version and it was just too good to pass up. Considering how much it’s used it’s got to be one of the best bargains around.
Once every so often I’ll clear out all my computer’s history, cookies, etc. and defrag so I like to also keep all my vital usernames/passwords in a neat little program called Password Safe (http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/). Sort of belt and suspenders with RoboForm but it’s simple, very effective and free.
I also depend on another great little free utility – wizmo.exe (http://www.grc.com/wizmo/wizmo.htm). Written in assembly language by Steve Gibson of Gibson Research it’s tiny but powerful. You just copy it to a location on your hard drive and create a shortcut to it. It has lots of commands but two that I use daily are shutdown and hibernate (wizmo.exe shutdown, wizmo.exe hibernate). With one click I can shutdown my computer or send it into hibernation. I’m trying to be more energy conscious so rather than leave my computer running when I need to take care of chores or distractions, I just one click into hibernation. This also saves time when powering back up. Lots of other commands available like one click reboot(wizmo.exe reboot). Other great free time-savers are ClipX and SyncToy.
I’m using LastPass, too. It’s a little buggy, but for $25 for 2 years, it was worth it.

I think Roboform is only $29, and it’s a one-time fee. Also…very much NOT buggy. Extremely solid stuff. I think they sometimes run a special to add a second computer for only $10, but I’m not sure if that’s happening right now.

Yup, RoboForm is The Bomb. Christopher’s suggestion for shielding outsourcees from your real credentials is also interesting.
